Omaha Public Schools Highland Elementary School

Omaha,

This project for Omaha Public Schools completed a 12,300-square-foot addition to Highland Elementary, along with a series of campus-wide improvements designed to enhance safety, functionality, and day-to-day operations. The new addition includes five classrooms, administrative offices, restrooms, and a FEMA-rated storm shelter, along with a new main entrance that improves circulation and security for students, staff, and visitors.

Upgrades extended throughout the existing school and focused on both learning environments and critical infrastructure. New flooring was installed building-wide, while updates to HVAC, fire alarm, mechanical, and plumbing systems improved comfort and reliability. Interior improvements also included new countertops, refreshed finishes, a newly painted gym with updated lighting, and a renovated kitchen with new ceilings and lighting to support daily operations.

Exterior and site improvements rounded out the project, with construction of a new outdoor basketball court, foundation work for service areas, and a new driveway and garage to streamline deliveries. Additional enhancements included upgraded security cameras, new parking lot lighting, and updated landscaping—creating a safer, more functional campus that supports the school community both inside and out.
