Omaha Public Schools Benson High School

Omaha,

At Benson High School, Phase I involved the renovation of approximately 150,000 square feet within an active, occupied campus. The project modernized 90% of all classrooms while school remained in session, demonstrating a high level of coordination and planning. Key improvements included new administration offices, a culinary classroom, a pottery and art classroom with an adjoining kiln room, updated science classrooms with new lab casework, a storm refuge area, and a new nurse’s office. The project also achieved 15% Economic Inclusion Participation, supporting Omaha Public School District’s commitment to diversity and community involvement.

Phase II focused on major infrastructure and aesthetic upgrades to further modernize the facility. Improvements included a boiler replacement, air handling unit (AHU) replacement, chiller and cooling tower replacement, and a complete re-roof. Theater upgrades were also completed, along with the installation of a new front entry curtainwall system that enhanced both the appearance and energy efficiency of the building.
